*Taln lies back on his bed with some paper and a pencil, writing something. He leaves the door to the hallway open.*

*He takes the paper and rolls it up tightly, then ties a bit of string around it. Taln takes another sheet of paper, and starts writing on that.*

*Nanalie walks down the hallway and notices Taln's door open. She peeks in*
"Hey Taln! How are ya?"

*Taln looks up and smiles*
Just a bit busy, writing some letters to friends and family.

"Oh really? You should invite them to stay here. They are more than welcome."

"Aye, I've invited my wife to come and visit after this battle's over. My friend's got his duty at a fort so he won't be able to come for a long time."

"That's great! I'd love to meet your wife. Hopefully this war will end soon so you won't have to be apart from her for much longer. Anyway, I apologize for interupting. I'll let you get back to your letter"
*Nanalie smiles*

*Taln smiles back*
If you ever need me, just call.
*He rolls the letter up and ties it with a string. He wraps them both with a thick cloth, tying them to an arrowshaft. He then fires it into the forest.*

We'll call this a short period after Mirri has left the kitchens ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Muramin would walk down the hall, stopping at Taln's room and gently knocking on the door with a paw. She needed to speak with him and she thought it was fairly urgent.

Come in.
*The door was open, and Taln was lying back, taking a nap or looking like it. He swung hus feet over the side of his bed and sat up*

Muramin was a little hesitant, but she brushed it off, taking only a pawstep into the room.
"There's a small matter with which I am having difficulty... And I was hoping you might be able to assist me with this."

*Taln motioned to a nearby chair for Murmain to sit in.*
"What d'ye need help in?"

"Thank ye..."
Muramin sighed, trying to think of the best way to put her problem.
"I knew that I could not ask any of the others, their backgrounds are quite unlike our own... Let's just say that, for example, you meet up with someone near your home who, under normal circumstances would be welcome... However, your own senses and their story of origins do not agree... What would you do?"

This is RP from an IM between Taln and myself, only altered for color (he's green, I'm yellow). ------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You and I both know that a goodbeast can be of a vermin species, and the same for the reverse. I hate to say it but I'm living proof."
*Taln sighs and leans back against the wall.*
Muramin nodded.
"Aye, this is true... But these beasts here are too soft to realize every threat... Even the very young are capable of great harm..."
*Taln smiles*
"Well, I'm glad that I wasn't the only one to notice something wrong."
Muramin raised a brow.
"You know of whom I speak, then?"
"Aye. I knew something was wrong when they were outside, but I still acted as if I was unaware of the threat. Just to keep the enemy off guard"
*Taln smiled and winked at Murmain.*
"Then surely you know that we cannot take this lightly... And the lives of many always have more value than the lives of few..."
"Aye, so what do you suggest?"
Muramin sighed again.
"I am unsure... They are from THE camp; their scent betrays as much... But you know as well as I do that the beasts here would rather toss all their lives away than harm a single hair on any of them..."
"They aren't aware of what I said earlier...Act like you don't know anything about it and I'll keep watch over them. Being able to turn invisible does help every so often."
"But they are three, and you are one... If they were to go separate ways, well... And I am not the master of stealth you are; I may have let my opinion slip already to them..."
"Just be on your guard and keep an eye on them for now."
*Taln walks to the window and whistles loudly, and waits.*
"I could use your help in keeping track of them later. One of us for each of them."
Muramin shook her head for a second and sighed.
"Such a plan will not work indefinately... They will either clue in or stir opinion should I attempt to intercede with any maligned plans they have..."
"If any Redwaller bother you, then come to me. I'll try to persuade them otherwise"
*With a rustle, a golden eagle flies in through the open window and lands on Taln's left arm.*
*The eagle flies back out the window and soars away.*
Muramin stopped, thinking a second before nodding with a frown.
"However, your plan is of good mind... So said, so shall it be done..."
